50 Devotion Topics and Ideas

As bloggers and writers we all face it eventually, the blank computer screen or paper.

Devotion topics can sometime be difficult to come up with when we're in a dry spell and the words just won't flow.

We have heard from many of our readers that having some resources to help with overcoming writing block would be helpful.

As part of our ongoing quest to encourage bloggers, writers, and anyone else who is passionate about sharing their Christian message, we have a brand new resource available, and it's FREE!

50 Devotion Topics and Ideas

This resource will help you brainstorm devotion topics in those times when you just seem to be coming up dry. We hope you enjoy it and it is a blessing to you. Please let us know in the comments what you think and if you would like more resources like this.

For the next four days this resource will be available here for download. After that time, the first page will be available in our "freebies" area and the entire resource will be available for free (along with other free resources) in our members area which you can access by signing up using the form below. Once you submit the form you will receive a password.

Christian Haiku Group Writing Project

It has been a while since Faithful Bloggers hosted a group writing project so we thought it was about time for one.

Christian Haiku

Announcing the Christian Haiku Group Writing Project

Why Christian Haiku? Well, Monday April 17th is Haiku Poetry Day. In honor of that, we are seeking writing submission which are Haiku but are also Christian in content.

We will be compiling all the submission of Christian Haiku into a downloadable book (PDF) which you can share with your readers.
This PDF will be hosted on Faithful Bloggers for download but if you are a contributing writer, you are also welcome to make this available on your own site (for free only,  this can not be charged for). The purpose of this book is to share the Word of God in a manner which is a bit different than you may have done in the past. Having something on your site for your readers to download creates increased engagement. This is a good opportunity for you to have something for them to download at minimal work on your end. It's also a good opportunity to stretch yourself and your writing.

If you are asking, "What exactly is Haiku?" well, we're glad you asked.

Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry which originated in the 16th century. It is a pattern of 3 lines of poetry (that's all, not so hard right?). The three lines contain specific numbers of syllables, the first line has 5 syllables, the second 7 syllables and the third line has 5 syllables. Here is an example from
Tom DiFrancesca III of http://www.4u-lord.com

Immeasurable
Like snowflakes falling quickly
God's grace pouring down

There are many examples of Haiku available online if you need more examples. If you would like more Christian examples, there are some links at the bottom of this post.

How to submit for the Christian Haiku Group Writing Project:

  • Send an email to admin(at)faithfulbloggers.com.

  • The subject line must read: "Haiku Submission".

  • You are welcome to submit up to 10 Haiku.

  • If you want us to include a link to your website in the PDF, you must include it in the email submission. If it is not in the email, it will not be in the PDF.

  • All submissions will include the name of the author unless it is specified in the email that you wish to remain anonymous.

  • The deadline for submission is Wednesday April 12th at 10:00a.m.

  • If you want us to include a link to your website in the PDF, you must include it in the email submission. If it is not in the email, it will not be in the PDF.

  • We reserve the right to refuse any submission we feel are innappropriate for our readers.

  • By submitting to the Group Writing Project you are giving permission for your submission to be distributed free of charge here on Faithful Bloggers as well as on other contributors websites.

We will turn all submissions into a PDF and will send an email on Friday April 14th for you to access the PDF so you can promote it on International Haiku Poetry Day (April 17th).

So get busy writing those Haiku, we can't wait to read them.

Why Do You Blog? - Group Writing Project

bannerWe haven't done a group writing project in a long time.  I think it's about time for another one. I have been getting a lot of emails lately from people who want to start blogging but are unsure if it is really the right thing for them.  So I thought the topic of "Why Do You Blog?" would be an excellent group writing project.  It will allow others to get various view points on the purpose of blogging and  help them determine if it would be a good fit for them.

How to Participate

Each blogger that wishes to participate will write  a post about the chosen group writing project topic on their blog.  Once the post is up, the blogger will need to leave their link in the comments section so that everyone can read it. Once everyone has submitted their posts, I will publish a round up of all the posts with links back to the blogger’s blog.

The entire writing project will then be complied into a special report for the bloggers who contribute to giveaway for free on their own sites.  I will also be submitting the special report for download on the Kindle.  If you don't want to appear in the special report, please let me know in advance.

Your post can be as long or as short as you want.  Anything goes - though I have the right not to include any posts that do not include the chosen theme or are not family friendly. You will have until Thursday, February 7, 2013 to write your post and leave a link to it in the comments section.

Oh yea, there is a prize for participating too.  Everyone that participates (those who actually write a post and submits the link) will be put into a drawing to win a free a copy of my report, Creating Christian Content. I can’t wait to read everyone’s posts!

Group Writing Project Available on The Kindle

Our latest group writing project, In Every Thing Give Thanks, is now available on the Kindle!  Click over to see it on Amazon and if you feel inclined, leave a review. Unfortunately I had to list it for $0.99 - the lowest price available.  Apparently you can not list books for free.  :(  Just know that every penny paid will go directly towards the running of Faithful Bloggers and the associated blogs.

In Every Thing Give Thanks Special Report

A couple weeks ago we started a new group writing project based on 1 Thessalonians 5:18.  We ended up having 13 bloggers participate!  I complied all the entires into a downloadable special report.  Feel free to download and offer it on your blog as well. Just click on the ecover below to download.

The contributors:

In Every Thing Give Thanks

Are you ready for another group writing project?  I thought with Thanksgiving coming up just next month, thankfulness would be a great topic for a group writing project.  I chose 1 Thessalonians 5:18 as our main verse, but any verse on thankfulness would work too.

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you." 1 Thessalonians 5:18

I will also be submitting the special report for download on the Kindle and Nook.  So if you don't want to appear in special report, please let me know in advance.

Your post can be as long or as short as you want.  It can be a personal testimony, a devotional, or Bible study in nature.  It can be a photo that you believe describes the verse.  Anything goes - though I have the right not to include any posts that do not include the chosen theme.

You will have until Friday, October 28, 2011 to write your post and leave a link to it in the comments section.

Oh yea, there is a prize for participating too.  Everyone that participates (those who actually write a post and submits the link) will be put into a drawing to win a free a copy of my report, Creating Christian Content.

I can’t wait to read everyone’s posts!

Death, Burial, and Resurrection Special Report

A couple weeks ago we started a new group writing project about the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.  We ended up having 15 bloggers participate!  I have now complied all the entires into a downloadable special report.  Feel free to download and offer it on your blog as well. Just click on the ecover below to download.

If you would like to use the ecover on your blog to direct people to the download, just use the code below:

<a href="http://faithfulbloggers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/deathburialgwp.pdf" title='Faithful Bloggers' target='_blank' style='font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;'><img src="http://faithfulbloggers.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/deathburialgwpecover.png"></A>

Thanks to all the bloggers who participated.  You all did a wonderful job!  Enjoy!

The Death, Burial, and Resurrection

I think it's a about time for another group writing project.  The ones we have done in the past have been so much fun and encouraging.  With Easter just around the corner, I think the theme The Death, Burial, and Resurrection is perfect! How it works:

Each blogger that wishes to participate will write  a post about the chosen group writing project topic on their blog.  Once the post is up, the blogger will need to leave their link in the comments section so that everyone can read it.

Once everyone has submitted their posts, I will publish  a round up of all the posts with links back to the blogger’s blog. The entire writing project will then be complied into a special report for the bloggers who contribute to giveaway for free on their own sites.

Normally I have everyone choose a from a list of verses based on the topic, but The Death, Burial, and Resurrection is such an important message and spoken all through-out the Bible, that I'm not going to do that this time.  You can choose to base your blog post on any verse you wish, as long as it fits the topics - The Death, Burial, and Resurrection.

Your post can be as long or as short as you want.  It can be a personal testimony, a devotional, or Bible study in nature.  It can be a photo that you believe describes the verse.  Anything goes.

You will have until Friday, April 1, 2011 to write your post and leave a link to it in the comments section.  I know Easter isn't until April 24, 2011, but I want to make sure I have time to get the special report together and in everyone's hands before then to share.

Oh yea, there is a prize for participating too.  Everyone that participates (those who actually write a post and submits the link) will be put into a drawing to win a free a copy of my report, Creating Christian Content.

I can’t wait to read everyone’s posts!

P.S.  If you would like to include the badge for this Group Writing Project on your blog post, here is the code:

Romans Road: A Christian Group Writing Project

gwpromansroad.png

A huge thanks to everyone who participated in August's group writing project on Romans Road.  It's amazing and heart warming to think that all these Christian bloggers have come together to write about such an important topic - salvation.  Below are the links to all the bloggers who participated.  I hope you are blessed.

Romans Road

Romans 3: 23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:10-18, “As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat [is] an open sepulchre; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps [is] under their lips: Whose mouth [is] full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet [are] swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery [are] in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes

Romans 6:23, “For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Romans 10:13, “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 5:1, “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:”

Romans 8:1, “[There is] therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Romans 8:38-39, “For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Group Writing Project: Romans Road

Since the first group writing project was such a success, I thought we could do another one. How it works:

Each blogger that wishes to participate will choose a topic from the list provided and write  a post about that topic on their blog.

This month's topic is Romans Road.  As Christians we know the importance of salvation.  Let share that with the blogging world.  Each blogger will select a verse from Romans Road and write a post explaining what that verse means to them.  It can be as long or as short as you want.  It can be a personal testimony, a devotional, or Bible study in nature.  It can be a photo that you believe describes the verse.  Anything goes.

If you choose a verse, please leave a comment saying so.  I understand we may have more than 9 bloggers who are interested in participating and that is fine.  Duplicates are fine, but please make sure all verses are accounted for at least once before duplicating choices.

You will have until Friday, August 13, 2010 to choose and claim a verse and then until August 20, 2010 to write your post and leave a link here in the comments to the permalink of your post.

Oh yea, there is a prize for participating too.  Everyone that participates (those who actually write a post and submits the link) will be put into a drawing to win a free 30 minute blog/online business coaching session with me.

I can’t wait to read everyone’s thoughts!

Edited:  Since I was unable to announce the group writing project to the newsletter list, I am going to extend the deadline to chose a verse to Tuesday, August 17, 2010.  Thanks.

Christian Group Writing Project

I have a fun project for all of us Christian bloggers to contribute on together - a Christian Group Writing Project. How this works is that a blogger will choose a topic from the list provided and write  a post on that topic on their blog.  Once the post is up, the blogger will need to leave their link in the comments section so that everyone can read it.

Bloggers will have a couple days to choose a topic and then 1 week to write the post.  Once everyone has submitted their posts, I will publish  a round up of all the posts with links back to the blogger's blog. The entire writing project will then be complied into a special report for the bloggers who contribute to giveaway for free on their own sites.

The topic for the first ever Faithful Blogger's Group Writing Project will be Psalms 23.  Each blogger will select a verse and write a post explaining what that verse means to them.  It can be as long or as short as you want.  It can be a personal testimony, a devotional, or Bible study in nature.  It can be a photo that you believe describes the verse.  Anything goes.

Psalms 23

1. The LORD [is] my shepherd; I shall not want.

2. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

3. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.

4. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou [art] with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

5. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.

6. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.

If you choose a verse, please leave a comment saying so.  I understand we may have more than 6 bloggers who are interested in participating and that is fine.  Duplicates are fine, but please make sure all verses are accounted for at least once before duplicating choices.

You will have until Monday, July 5, 2010 to choose and claim a verse and then until July 12, 2010 to write your post and leave a link here in the comments to the permalink of your post.

Oh yea, their is a prize for participating too.  Everyone that participates (as in actually writes a post and submits the link) will be put into a drawing to win a free custom Twitter background!

I can't wait to read everyone's thoughts on Psalms 23!
