Christian Haiku Group Writing Project - with Downloadable PDF

Today is Haiku Poetry Day. In honor of Haiku Poetry Day, Faithful Bloggers issued a group writing project challenge to write Christian Haiku, 22 people accepted that challenge. (You can read about the challenge here). 

Haiku is a form of Japanese poetry which originated in the 16th century. It is a pattern of 3 lines of poetry. The three lines contain specific numbers of syllables, the first line has 5 syllables, the second 7 syllables and the third line has 5 syllables. 

I'm sure you will agree as you read the submissions, they are all beautiful, each in it's own way.

It was enjoyable for me to read them because they were so varied in the emotions which they conveyed. They ranged from one author using big words which expressed the unfathomableness of God, words like; indispensable and inexplicable all the way to another author using Batman in hers, I love that.

I love that our Christian faith can be expressed in that variety of ways because, that's just what living a life of Christian faith is actually like, deep and serious at times, lighthearted and friendly at others.

One day God is my sustainer, my strength when my heart is breaking, another day He's providing fresh joy in the morning and laughter on the wind. 

Thank you to all those who contributed, your submissions were beautiful. You all seriously rocked the Haiku.
